Propaganda techniques; digital propaganda; censorship regimes including the censorship industrial complex; propaganda across issue areas such as COVID-19, war and conflict and the environment; media bias; new media environment.

Envisaged activities/program

Via a series of web-based seminars, enable student to develop a basic understanding of key theories regarding propaganda and media and then work towards development of research question on a focused area of interest. This will form basis for an original piece of work by the student (5-10k word research paper).

UG degree or higher. Prospective students should supply short CV and description of their motivation for learning more about propaganda and their current research interests.
